The Friends of St Luke’s have funded both cuddle beds and fall management beds, helping to bring greater comfort, dignityand safety to patients at some of the most vulnerable moments in their care.
Cuddle beds, funded with the support of St Luke’s Ladies Golf Society, are specially designed wider beds that allow loved ones to sit or lie alongside patients receiving palliative care. In these moments, being close means everything.
As our ambassador Ryan Baird shared:
“When Iencounteredthe cuddle beds I nearly cried at the thought of spending your last few nights with a loved one. What a beautiful idea, yet so heartbreaking at the same time.”
These beds create space for connection — for holding hands, sharing stories, or simply being together when it matters most.
Alongside this, fall management beds play a vital role in keeping patients safe.
Designed to reduce the risk of falls, they provide reassurance to both patients and their families, particularly when patients are weak or unsteady during treatment.
Together, these supports show the real impact of donor generosity — helping to ensure patients feel safe, cared for, and never alone.
