The upgrade of the Diagnostic Imaging Department in St Luke’s was funded by The Friends of St Luke’s and involved the replacement of x-ray and ultrasound equipment together with integrating the RIS (Radiology Information System) PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) system. Associated structural refurbishment of the department also took place.
The imaging examinations play a large part in planning of patient treatment and are also used to assess the treatment response and to monitor the progress of the patient.
